A spec film for VIREO · Genève
Lost in the Western Ghats in the monsoon of 2019. Found seven years later, stopped at 10:08. A hand lifts it, the rotor swings, and the seconds hand starts again. It was only waiting.
01
A 39 mm steel case, a domed sapphire, a forest-green sunray dial and a heat-blued deadbeat seconds hand, all modelled down to the screws of a working automatic movement. Any angle, any light, any frame.
02
A mechanical watch left in a forest stops. Ours stops too, and wakes only when it's lifted and the rotor winds it. The rain, the leaves and the light follow the same rules, so a collector never catches a cheat.
03
Rain, insects and thunder in the dark, then silence, then the first tick, with the score landing exactly on it. The film is built around that one second.
